Welcome to ý Cambridge

Welcome…
from Tom Caston, Principal

Welcome to ý Cambridge, one of the UK’s leading independent sixth form colleges, rated Outstanding by Ofsted in all areas, and placed by the Department for Education in the top 1% of all schools and colleges in England for value-added at A level.

We pride ourselves on our aspirational students, inspirational staff and small class sizes – an environment where our students are pushed to work hard in order to reach their full potential. Throughout their studies here, they are mentored to equip them with the academic and personal skill set they need to tackle the next stages and challenges of their respective careers successfully.

Our personalised approach begins with an interview offering a tailored educational plan and continues throughout the two years at the college with weekly 1:1 meetings between the student and a personal tutor. They review progress and targets together, while developing a detailed and strategic university application plan. This includes support for entrance exams as well as our renowned expert advice and interview practice for Oxford and Cambridge, as well as subjects such as Medicine and other specialist courses that interview. Our small class sizes, guaranteeing fewer than 10 students per class, allow us to make our students’ academic goals a reality.

ý Cambridge is a wonderful and dedicated community, a college where we are proud and passionate about what we do.

While this welcome can merely offer you a small glimpse of life here, please feel free to explore our website for the full range of courses we provide, including those for our small family of GCSE students. However, if you are interested in a place at ý, feel free to come and see what we do yourself, either on an Open Day or by arranging a bespoke visit and tour.
